curing infection after tooth extraction.

sir,i got my tooth extracted on 27th june.it kept on paining for 1 week.i showed it to my doctor.he says infection is there.i was prescribed antibiotics.after 5 days of course it still pains,though with mild intensity.teeth have become sensitive.is it normal or some problem is there?how long i need to take antibiotics??????????pls help....

thanks sir for ur help......today i visited my doctor.she says wound has almost healed.my antibiotics have been stopped...sensation in teeth will go in some time.feeling relaxed........those antibiotics r really horrible.....THANKS...........

Usually the antibiotic course is for 5-7 days...
if resolution of the symptoms is not obvious further investigation is needed
