cyst or cysts in mandibular condyle

by 56sk, Oct 17, 2005 12:00AM
I have been diagnosed from Xray as having subchondral cystic change in a mandibular condyle, possibly due to degenerative change.  I am 66 years old.

Could you advise me whether this is likely to get worse and what treatment, if any, is there.  At the moment I have discomfort - rather like a nagging toothache - rather than pain in my lower jaw.

I have no other TMJ problem and my teeth are okay.

Many thanks.

I have done some inquiries but I have not been able to get any definitive answers. I don't know who diagnosised the problem but I suggest you see a doctor that specializes in TMJ dysfunction.
