dental pain

I started with pain near my wisdom tooth yesterday,the pain shoots along my bottom left side,the pain throbs,i went to the doctor and he gave me pain killers he told me i need to see dentist,my gum seems a little swollen and its almost like its covering my wisdom tooth,what could be wrong?

Hi,
It's possible that the wisdom tooth is trying to erupt and there isn't room enough for it to come through.  You need to get to a dentist for evaluation of the area and to see if there is room for your tooth to come in.  If not, extraction is usually recommended.

Get to the dentist cause this won't go away by itself if there is no room for that tooth to erupt.

If you have had the tooth already removed, there could be infection in that area.

Either way, you need to get to the dentist.
