denture cream question

by bunnymom25, Nov 05, 2009 01:21PM
My husband has had dentures for about 10 years now, and he uses fixodent and just recently notice a loss of sensation in his upper thighs.  Could this be due to zinc poisoning from the denture cream?  I've been reading up on it since we discovered the numbness but most of the information is very vague.

Does anyone know more about the symptoms of zinc posioning?  I know that it also causes a copper deficiency but if he does have the zinc poisoning - what other symptoms can we look for?

I'm not aware of any proven literature or studies that confirm that this is true.  It is advised though that if the denture is poor fitting and needs denture cream, you should see a dentist to evaluate the denture.
