denture pain

My sister never wore her dentures because she said they hurt. Now these dentures are over a year old. Can these dentures still be adjusted so they will be comfortable? or has her bone structure continued to change to the point that these dentures must be replaced?

It depends on the circumstances in which they were made.  If they are what we term "immediate" dentures, in which teeth were removed and the dentures delivered, her bone structure could be much different than the day they were put in.  If she was teethless when the dentures were made, they could potentially fit still.
