dentures 3 days after extractions?

dentures 3 days after extractions?

I am going to be getting dentures.  I had my consultation and xrays and then was referred to an oral surgeon for the actual extractions.   The dentist I went to has his own lab in his office and sees many denture patients.  He claims to have made over 4,000 custom dentures.  He wants me to have my extractions done on my top teeth, I currently have 7 teeth, 6 are classified as simple extractions and 1 as a surgical because it is broken.  In the past, my teeth have come out easily and I have been told that I have short roots and typically within a day or 2, I am back to normal, just have to be careful where I chew.  My question is this, I am scheduled to have my extractions on a Friday morning.  On Monday morning, I am to come back to the dentist where he will then make my impressions and will then have me chose the shape, color etc of my new teeth.  A few hours later, I am to come back and try in the wax ins and then come back on Tues for the insertion of the denture.  I know I will need relines, I just don't want to be without teeth while healing completely.  Is it a bad idea to have impressions so soon?  Can this disturb the clots in my extractions and cause dry socket?  Thanks for any advice you have.

Immediate denture generally does no harm to healing wound, if done properly.

Looks to me like you may be in for some trouble. I had all my teeth pulled early in July in 4 stages. No way all the swelling goes down in just a few days. Your mouth needs at least 4 months to heal. I got temporary dentures and within a few days I had to go back for adjustments. Finally, I started using my own Rotary Toolkit to do my own adjusting. I took care of pain and gagging myself. The dentures are temporaries, so the dentist doesn't mind my handy work. Even now, I still do some "adjusting" as my gums are still healing and changing. I have a very low tolerance of pain in my mouth. I won't get the permanent dentures until November and the way I modified the "temporaries", I'm OK with that.
