dentures

I have worn dentures for about thirty years, now i am again having new ones, i am going to the dentist to have dentures on a plate but when i had them fitted last week i had the plate on the top of the two frount teeth in my mounth, i asked if i had to have the pink plate in the frount of my mounth and the dentist said that it was better for my bite. i have a wide smile and you can see the plate, can i ask the dentist if he can remove the plate from the two frount teeth

Does your original denture have a plate in the front teeth?  Maybe the front teeth are too low and you can see more of the pink plate compared to your old denture.  It is very difficult to make a denture exactly the same as your previous denture.
