dry socket??

i had a lower molar pulled tuesday. byt wed nite thurs am i still had a lot of pain. when i look inside the hole i see some whitish stuff and a hole in the middle of it i cleaned it out and rinsed with salt water but the whitish stuff came back. the pain radiates from ok to very bad any help or advise

You can definitely get a dry socket after a tooth extraction. You are not supposed to use straw's or smoke right after having it done. You probably should not have cleaned it out because a blood clot is supposed to form. Using warm salt water was a good idea. but, you should not swish to hard. Go back to your dentist and he will pack it and if there is an infection, he may give you an antibiotic for it. He may also prescribe a pain med.

thanks for ur advice i did end up going to the dentist he said it wasnt dry socket but packed it w clove oil just incase....im all set now thank god!!!
