ear pain and ringing, can't chew on right side of jaw

by corrina1107, Mar 08, 2006 12:00AM
I have had a stabbing pain in my right ear, then two months later I had constant ringing in both ears, and then the pain spread to my left ear. The Dr says there is no infection. I cannot chew with the right side of my mouth. I get a pain that is in my ear and extends to the cheek bone, and in front of my ear. The ringing has been here for over 2 months and the pain is pretty much constant sharp pains. I have been in many accidents, Ive had braces a yr earlier, and I have major neck and back stress because of my breast implants. My eyes are also sensitive to light. I had a DR jab the ear scope so far in that I screamed and thats when I noticed I couldnt chew on the right side, but that doesnt explain the pain and ringing in the left ear. Please help! My ENT appointment is far away as well as my dentist. Is there a masseuse that specializes in the TMJ for some relief? Thank You, anything helps.

I really think you need to consult a dentist who specializes in TMJ dysfunction and pain management. I think this situation is beyond the scope of the general dentist.
