food caught and puffy gums!

food caught and puffy gums!

HI there, I really appreciate any advice you can give me!
I have had a root canal and then crown on a back upper molar about 2 years ago. We have moved area's now am seeing a new dentist.
For the past year this tooth has been doggin me, lots of food getting caught, i do floss several
times per day, taking out big chunks of food (sorry to be graphic!) and its constantly sore!
The gum is tender. I am at wits end.
My dentist (not the one who put it on) recently diagnosed an infection,I took meds x 7 days, then he filled the area
to prevent less food from getting trapped. I floss and brush to no avial.
Its seems like a cycle of soreness.
When I mentioned getting the crown removed the new dentist did not seem too keen.
Is there any other suggestion do I have to live the rest of my life like this? Will another dentist remove the crown?
am frustrated, please any help is appreciated.

Hi,
Have you tried a water pik?  It may help free the area of excess debris that you just can't get with a toothbrush and sometimes even with floss.

I use one in the evening after I brush and floss.  Seems like I still can get small particles out with the water pik even after what I consider to be good oral hygiene.

Give it a shot and good luck.
Do let us know how you are doing.  Love a good success story!  :)

Best to you,
Gellia

I would also suggest you to practice water pick after every meal. Such simple dental care measures help you in suppressing such issues and in keeping your teeth healthy.
