front teeth causing canker sores

front teeth causing canker sores

A while ago, the gap between my front teeth had a cavity.  After they filled them, it was never the same.  First it was sharp and I had them file them down.  But it did not feel right and it was still sharp.  The dentist tried 2 more times to fix this problem and it has never been the same.  I get canker sores on my tongue and the tip of my tongue is sore from always hitting the 2 front teeth.  Now I think my throat doesn't feel good and I am not sure if it is from my teeth.  I do not want to go back to my dentist for the 4th time with the same problem.  What should I do and can another dentist understand what my problem is?

Etiology of canker sore (=aphthous ulcer) is loss of immune regulation, which probably is not related to restoration of cavity. Your problem may come from overcontoured restorstion, occlusal interference, or rough surface of the restoration. Seeing a competent dentist is advised.
