gums hurt when i move jaw

On June 8th I had all my wisdom teeth pulled and for the first 4 days everything was going fine and the pain was getting better each day but on the 5th day I woke up with pain in my lower right gums but only when I move around my right jaw. The day after I went to the oral surgeon because I thought it could be a dry socket and he never really told me if it was but they put the gauze in and the pain went away right and I went back the next day to have another gauze put it but then I went out of town the next 4 days and the pain came right back. It has now been a week and the pain is not getting any better. I don't think it's a dry socket because from what I read the pain from a dry socket seems so much worse than the pain I'm experiencing but the pain I have is still enough to really bother me. What could I possibly have and how long is this pain going to last? I can't go back to the oral surgeon for another few days because they aren't open on weekends.
