help! my glands are swollen, and i have dry socket

i went to the dentist on march 17th. to have my lower right wisdom tooth pulled, the dentist who performed the extraction had a hard time getting the tooth out, (i beleive he should have sent me to an oral surgeon). anyhow, i ended up with stiches that came out on the 4th day, and was diagnosed with a dry socket. i started my antibiotics right away, and have since finished them. problem is, my right gland is very swollen, my ears are popping, and i feel very run down. i went everyday last week for dry socket paste , and reported to the dentist my symptoms. he said, and i quote,"the socket looks fine, but if you want, i can numb you up, and cut the socket open to let the fresh blood clot". i do not want this man coming near my mouth w/ a scalpal, i do not trust him. and if i didnt "clot" the first time, why would i now? im on birth control pills, and have read that your at higher risk of dry socket, when taking birth control. he did not inform me of this before pulling my tooth. i am very worried, and feel very sick. i have been in such pain and agony for two weeks now from having the dry socket, i've called another dentist to see if they'll take a look at me, but they said, no other dentist is going to want to deal with another dentist problem!!! my right gland is throbbing right now, and last night i had cold sweats. i wanted to go to the e.r. today, but i called the local hospital in my area, and they said, they DO NOT  have a oral surgeon on call, i would have to go to westchester county,n.y.!!! i am in dutchess county n.y.!!! i was in a car accident back last dec., and do not have a vehicle at this time to do that amount of traveling. please help, i dont know what to do...
