how do i get my dentist to comply for a request of information? state of texas

I have faxed my dentist several times, and even written them in the mail requesting they let me know what services which I have paid for, that i am entitled to a refund to, so that I can check the prices of those services at other dentists, elsewhere and choose the dentist with the most reasonable price.

they however, will not comply and write me back a letter.  its been about two weeks and nothing in the mail.  if i send them a certified letter, what else can is send them (quoteable information for the state of texas), that will let them know, that they are required by law to provide me that information ?

I read where some individuals (patients) are eligible for write offs after a certain amount of payment to a medical provider a year even though they have insurance.

Ask them for an itemized copy of a list I think is what you do for  the person who does your taxes.  Or have a one free consultation with an Attorney and see if you can write them a letter asking for it and CC his name under yours at the end of the letter.

Call an Attorney first though to see if you can do this, my sister did in a situation that she had regarding something about medical.   I cannot remember what it was, it was many years ago.

Notify your state dental board, you'll get what you want in no time at all    Believe me it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     Not everyone tells you he truth about laws when it comes to denistry, you have to find them out on your own like I did.

Why do you believe you are entitled to a refund?

While I do understand money being an issue, I would not suggest looking around for the lowest price.  You tend to get what you pay for.  Finding a dentist you feel that you can trust is much more beneficial for you.

If you are just looking for a copy of your financial record, I would suggest calling the office and talking to the front desk.  She should be able to copy your financials without any problem.  Going in person is usually better though.

If you want a complete copy of your entire dental record, you can expect to pay a small fee to get everything copied, around $25-50.  This can only usually be given in person due to hipaa, and you will have to sign for it.

Whichever you want, I would highly suggest being as nice as possible about it.  You will get what you want much faster if you are.  And going to ask in person will speed things up as well, since many offices require that you sign off for any release of information.

Let me know how things turn out :)
