MY DENTIST IS MILES AWAY WISH HE WAS CLOSER THEN THIS WOULDNT BE SO HARD TO DEAL WITH BUT...MILES AND MILES AND ONLY GOT MEDICAIDE...I LIVE IN SMALL TOWN WHERE NO ONE TAKES MY COVERAGE .HOW LONG SHOULD I LET IT GO B4 GOIN BACK TO ER
You should go back to the dentist. It normally will be relatively pain free in a week or so. The socket itself may take a few months to close completely so food may be getting stuck in there causing a bad taste but that is usually resolved with diligent oral hygiene which is what it sounds like you're doing. If there is an infection, the antibiotics should work to clear it up and you should start to feel better after 3 days but you might want to finish the full course before you go to your dentist if you want to take a wait and see approach. I'm more concerned about the pain than the bad taste only cause it could be food getting stuck in there.
