infection after wisdom teeth extraction

I had my upper and lower wisdom teeth removed 3 days ago. Have followed all directions, no sucking, no spitting, etc. And have taken my antibiiotics and painkillers, thus, there is positively no sweeling and almost no pain at all. Until this morning on the lower site, so I check the wound and had a sore right next to it. Also, the wound itself looks closed but some of the skin around it is whitish. There is some bad smell, but not too much, and I did smoke 36 hours after the removal (not cigarrettes, but tobacco). Is there a possibility that this is a dry socket or an infection?

Probably is a dry socket i had that in my lower left it SUCKS!!! I get my right top and bottom out 2marrow ;( I know im ganna get dry socket again, and its lame cuz i really dont want to go to the dentist everyday for the next 2 months! I cant help not spitting nad thats how i got it last time. I could not swallow all the nasty spit or drewl whatever you want to call it all i could do was barely spit and i pulled the blood clot out. so i will probably get it again. when i had it last time whew my mouth was raunchyYUCK. well TTYL

I had dry socket too. It occurs most often on the bottom teeth. What you have sounds like dry socket. Unfortunately there is not much you can do, but if the pain is very bad, like mine was, you can go to the dentist and they can pack your socket with some numbing packing which really helps. It tastes a little bad, but it helps with the pain so much. Good luck!!!
