i am not sure why i have this clicking kind of pain under my ear, is it because a few days ago I cleaned my ear with a cotton bud, coz i have a cold or coz I have periodontitis?

It's like a clicking pain everytime i open my mouth. I cannot chew or yawn. It has been a week already. I will be seeing a doctor soon but just wanted to know the possiblilites.

Thanks

Seeing a tmj specialist is advised.

Hi cyma! As scottma said, you now need to see a tmj specialist. This is something I have dealt with for years. Knowing about your perio condition, it is possible that your teeth have shifted throwing off your bite. I am know that is what made my TMJ worse. So, although my periodontal condition is greatly improved, I now have lots of new issues due to the shifting that occurred.
I feel for ya!
