jaw sore couple weeks after crown

I have had 2 crowns put in (side by side) about 2 or 3 weeks ago.  I have had no problems until yesterday morning.  I woke up and my jaw was sore and couldn't bite down.  As the day went on it got better.  A few hours after I went to bed it started huring again, only a little worse, at one point it was throbbing.  I tried a cold pack and even took Tylenol.   It only started to feel better after I propped my upper body up and I fell back asleep.  This morning my jaw is sore and still can't bite on the crown, as far as I can tell it's only one of them bothering me.  Why after a few weeks would I start to have problems?  Why could cause this?

thank you.
