Lock jaw (trismus0 is commonly associated with lower wisdom tooth extraction, whcih may last 3-7 days.Persistent numbness is associated with traumatic trigeminal neuropathy. The affected nerve may or may not resume normal function. Current evidences suggest early intervention of pharmacologic management is beneficial.Seeing a neurologist or orofacial pain sopecialist isadvised, if your oral surgeon is not familiar with management of traumatic trigeminal neuropathy.
