long term pain

long term pain

I have pretty rotten teeth from years of neglect. I am seeing a dentist regularly to have repairs made. I am also on 85mg a day of methadone for opiate addiction. Addiction is under control with methadone. I am in constant severe pain with my teeth though. Some days very bad and can't do anything. Have been on toradol with no improvement, perscription ibuprofen no improvement, orajel etc. Is there any drug that will not be affected by the methadone(blocked)? It is so hard to have people like dentists not think it is "drug seeking behavior". But the pain is intolerable!

In order to do something about dental pain you have to find out what is causing it.  If your gums have receded, the dentin in your teeth is probably exposed.  If that is the case, the easiest and cheapest "fix" is toothpaste for sensitive teeth.

Believe it or not, the stuff works!  It does take a couple of weeks but in the meantime you can rub it directly on where it hurts, just don't swallow it.  Brush twice a day with it also.

Give it a try and let us know how you do.  Remember it does take awhile to work (10 days to two weeks).  It works by filling in the tubules in the dentin that lead to the nerve which is what causes the pain.

GOOD LUCK!

Best to you,
Gellia
