mouth falling apart, abcesses

mouth falling apart, abcesses

I am going to start off by telling you that I had a very rough childhood with minimal dental care. My teeth have always hurt.
I am 22 now and have been taking care of myself since I was 15. I haven't been able to go to the dentist for years(I can barely keep my electric on). Well, that said, two years ago I had to have a emergency extraction of my last upper right molar wich was broken for a year(my wisdom tooth is settling into that spot,no pain).
While pulling that tooth, the dentist broke the my lower 2nd molar. It has now broken about in half,I had a amalgam 'bridge' filling. It is now broken well below the gumline. I have had a hole there for 6 months now that I HAVE to clean out with a toothpick everytime I eat. And I can NEVER eat on that side. The thing is, it doesn't really hurt. Sometimes it does, depending on what I ate(NO sugar for Lynda anymore!!!). I brush, listerene, take an aleve and it feels fine. The reason I am writing this is because I am worried about my front tooth also. I had an infection, an abcess (abscess), then root canal. They had to 'cut out' the infection from the gum. The dentist then did a post and core. That is what I have had for 15 months. I was supposed to come back 2 weeks later for a crown and couldn't afford it. I left the office crying so hard because I knew that I had just givin them all the money I had for rent to pay for THAT treatment. They said I couldn't survive with my tooth like this. I haven't bitten into ANYTHING for that long. I cut everything up small and eat on my left side. There is a pimple thing on my gum above tooth for 3 month

Dear Rainkloud, I am sorry that you have had so much problems with your teeth. Good luck on your up coming marriage. The bubble on your gum is probably an indication of a fistuous tract, which is sign of an infection. Most likely from a previous root canal or one that is necessary. The chances of this becoming a brain abcess (abscess) is very rare. But this by no means means that this situation should not be investigated and treated. Good luck!

If there is a dental school in your area, or in a nearby city, they often have clinics where people can receive dental care at low cost. If there is a hospital in the region that has a medical school, you might call the medical school and ask if they had any dental clinics. Alternately, if there are any low-cost medical clinics in your city, you could ask them if they know of any source for low-cost dental care.

I hope you find a way to get your teeth taking care of soon. Feel better.
