my dental bridge discomfort

my dental bridge discomfort

My dentist 3 weeks ago finished the dental crown and placed the permanent crown in my mouth. It feels very foreign in my mouth and I cannot get used to it at all. I am fully aware it is foreign. I went back to him a week ago and he said my mouth would get used to it. It has not. I talked to friends and they said, they do not even know it is in their mouth. What shall I do? I can't live like this forever.

Dear barrygman:
Your condition is not uncommon. Your problems can be solved as long as you can find a competent dentist who can adjust the bite (occlusion) of your new restoration. If a new restoration is well fabricated, you can feel the bile is 100% comfortable and natural. Sometimes even better than your natural teeth. It's advised that you seek a dentist who received advanced training in the field of prosthodontics and occlusion. Not necessarily you need a redo of crowns or bridges.Good luck

Dear barrygman:
Some patients may take weeks or months to get used to the new restoration, some patients may end up other problems or just do'nt chew on that side. I really can not predict what you r ending is.
