new dental implants

About a week ago I completed surgery where 8 implants were placed into my upper jaw with a temporay bridge placed over the implants.

I'm not in much pain, but I hate how they feel. My gums feel irritated and are prone to swelling, and I can still only eat soft foods?

All of the discomfort is in my upper jaw, the lower is fine.

Is it normal to feel a low level discomfort about a week after surgery?

Will I get to the point where I'm not aware of feeling them all the time?

Also, my hard palate near just behind my implants at the front, upper jaw is swollen on each side still. Is that to be expected a week or so after surgery?

Going back to your dentist to have a post-op exam is advised.
