one-stage implant

one-stage implant

An implant was placed on #10 on Dec . 4, 2009. the same time, healing abutment was placed too. a connective tissue gum grafting was done the same time.

At the consultation time, the surgeon told me to better wait for four month after the implant surgery to implant crown. As my bone was not that good based on my CTscan. the bone density is level 3.
But right after the surgery on Dec. 4, the surgeon said to just wait for 6 weeks, then a temporal crown could be put on. otherwise , the gum shape from the gum grafting surgery might get impacted.

I would like to know what is the pro and con for waiting just 6 weeks for temporal crown or wait for full 4 month with healing abutment on ?

should healing abutment get put on so early? Thanks.

Sorry.  I don't place implants so I'm not fully qualified to answer the question.  You may want to post this question in Comprehensive Dentistry or Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to see if someone there can answer your question.
