pain and discomfort after crown

pain and discomfort after crown

HI
Last week i received my permanent crown on tooth #4. When leaving the dentist my bite felt fine. My Dentist did tell me he ordered the crown a little tight to avoid a gap between my other teeth so it might feel a little tight around that tooth for a few days. Since then it seems like i have been grinding my teeth at night when i am sleeping, but im not sure. I am feeling extreme discomfort and pain on the side of the crown, symptoms are extreme headaches, ache around my jaw,  right eye twitching ( side of the crown) tightness around tooth #4 ( even though i was told it would be temporary) , ear ache ( right side). my bite doesnt feel the same. Are these normal symptoms and do they eventually go away? or should i be concerned and go in to see my dentsit?
Thank you

Whenever I've had a crown placed, it's always taken about 2 to 4 weeks for me to feel normal again.  It is not uncommon to feel discomfort for awhile following a procedure like this.  But, if it persists, defnitely see your dentist.  It wouldn't hurt to call your dentist and explain the symptoms though.
