pain in temp bridge

pain in temp bridge

Temp Bridge -I hade my teeth worked on 7/16 it was fine; no pain.  On 8/27 - after getting 2 impressions done - my temp bridge is causing some discomfort; on & off for 2 wks.  One day I did have alot of pain & took an Aleve, that's when I saw the doctor.  My doctor said that I had alot of filling in tooth #13 so the nerve may be dying or I may need a root canal.  He wants me to see an endo.  I have burning tongue on the left side of my tongue & think this may be the cause of my pain.  I also feel that the temp was not cemented correctly.  How do I really know if I need a root canal?  Should I wait to see when I get my permanent & have it put on with temp cement & see if I still have pain? HELP!

If you feel its been cemented on wrongly, you can ask them to recement the temp and see if that fixes the problem.  If not, temp cementing the bridge is another option.  Your third option of seeing an endodontist (root canal specialist) can also help you figure out if you need a root canal or not.  Out of the three, I would think that just recementing the temp should be the easiest way to find out.  Now, if they worked on your teeth, put you in a temp, then worked some more and then placed the same temp in again, there may be some discomfort anyways because the tooth may have changed shape but the temp is built for your tooth previous to getting work done again.  A new temp may need to be made and that may also solve the problem.  Kind of complicated, i know.  If it doesn't make sense, I can try to explain it again.
