reoccuring white spots on side of tongue

I keep having these reoccuring white spots on the sides of my tongue. They are not really painful, just uncomfortable. They are not very big and usually goes away in a day or two. Sometimes its just one spot, other times its several, but always on the sides of my tongue. This has been going on for about a year now. No other symptoms with them.

It is not possible for me to diagnose the spots without seeing them and it is a good sign that they go away but you should see an oral surgeon for a definitive diagnosis.
