retreat, apicoectomy or extraction?

I had a root canal done about 4 months ago on a necrotic tooth.  The tooth still hurts when touched. I had a 3D scan today and was told I have an abscess. I have attached the image. Any advice?

Seeing an endodontist to evaluate is advised. Since the provided image shows small periapical lesion and there is room for better canal obturation, retreatment is warranted.

The endodontist is the one who did this scan.  He is recommending an apicoectomy done by an oral surgeon.  I was interested in others' opinions because I didn't feel completely comfortable with his determination.  I'm not a doctor, but it looked to me like my canal wasn't completely filled due to a curve. I was a bit surprised that the endo was recommending an apicoectomy and not retreatment as the first option.

Go back to your dentist/endodontist and see what they recommend. Could be a variety of treatments and antibiotics to help clear up the infection. An extraction may be necessary.
