Conventional tooth brushing generally will not cause palatal injuries. It appears that you are mouth breather. Seeing an ENT to find out if there is air way obstruction is advised. If the air way is patent, you may need to see a tmj specialist . Temporomandibular disorder may contribute to mouth breathing.

well the reason i bring this up is i also have a problem with sleaping with my mouth open and it dries out my throat.when i wake up it it agervated and sore after a few hours it feels better do you think the constant agervation could be causing this or helping it to not heal all the way or it could be scrubing it every night and morning maybe i shoud not brush the roof of my mouth for a few days and see if that helps.and i do plan to see a doctor for a check up seems how im in the proses of quiting i bought a can of mint snuff and its helping.....mint snuff-(fake dip)

I do'nt know what dip is.If the lesion persists more than 2 weeks after quitting consumption of dip, seeing an oral pathologist is advised.
