root canal pain

I had a root canal several weeks ago and it was fine then all the sudden it is sensitive to hot not cold just hot went back to dentist he said he cant find anything wrong but when hot hits it it throbs Iam not a dentist but if the nerve is gone how can it hurt?

I would get a referral to a root canal specialist.  There may be a problem with the root canal or a missed canal.

Your root canal pain may be a missed canal like the dentist Jerome Tsang suggested. I had root canal however years before the root canal I had a tooth extracted and I thing because I did not tell the dentist about the pulled toothe they did not get all the root. I could not eat shrimp for a long time without pain.
