root canals brittle teeth

by kaykow, Feb 21, 2008 08:14AM
This discussion is related to Long-term result of root-canal.

I have a missing tooth. The 2 teeth on each side of the missing tooth were altered for a bridge. Each of those 2 teeth had root canals. I was eating a piece of bread when I heard a crack. I thought my bridge had cracked. It didn't. One of those 2 teeth broke at the gum line. The other tooth got broken roots and will have to be removed.

I also had a problem with another tooth that had a root canal. It eventually had to be removed.

I have had 3 teeth with root canals that have been problems.

Because of this, I don't see any reason to have a root canal. Obviously they don't work for me.
