root canel problem

I had a root canel done about 5 moths ago. the last two weeks the gum around the tooth hurts brushing makes it even more sore and tender it is not bleeding. went to the dentist and he said it was bleeding and had a pocket just told me to rince with mouth wash it does not seem to be working could you advise me about this and what other things I can do

If there's a pocket, there needs to be a reason for that pocket to occur.  Did the doctor try to clean the pocket out so that you can maintain the hygiene and prevent the pocket from worsening and even possibly improving?  If that doesn't solve the problem, there could be a potential fracture of the tooth resulting in a pocket.
