HELLO I HAD A ROOTCANAL DONE 6MONTH AGO AND A POST AND CROWN DONE,NOW MY GUMS FEELS TENSE AND I FEEL LIKE THE CROWN IS GONNA COME OUT IT FEELS A LITTLE LOOSE.DENTIST SAYS THAT IF ITS THE ROOT CANAL GONE WRONG ITS UNFIXABLE IS THAT TRUE??? AM I GONNA BE WITHOUT A TOOTH ?? ITS TOP TOOTH#5

Did the dentist take an x-ray to see if the tooth root is fractured?  Is it just the crown that has loosened up?  I lost a crown because it was not cemented well and it was too high and took a beating, but the post was all right.  The dentist temporarily cemented it back on because he wanted to make a new one, and the tooth root ended up fracturing and I had to have it extracted.  If you have a fracture and it is not too deep, you can have tooth lengthening and would have another post and crown made that would go deeper under your gum.
