saliva gland

i have had a viral infection, for about 3 weeks now, and have been told that my saliva, glands, are plugged and i should massage my face and throat area to unplug them, i'm also experiencing a feeling of unbalance but do not have fluid in my ears, could this just be part of the virus, what else can i do besides massage to hasten this horrible virus
