severe sinus like headache after 2 tooth extractions a week ago

My husband had 2 upper teeth extracted a week ago.     2 days ago he started getting headaches.  Now it is severe.  Light hurts his left eye (the side of the extractions).  Under his eye hurts - almost like a sinus infection but with no other symptoms of that type (no congestion).  The left side of his head hurts and above his left ear.   I didn't think it could be an infection because he is still on penicillin that the dentist gave him.  Tylenol 3 doesn't work either.  He can't sleep.    I thought maybe it could be drysockets, but doesn't that start within a couple days of the extraction?  I'm wodnering if this will go away by himself.  If not, is there anything a doctor can do?  Of course tomorrow is Thanksgiving.  Is a trip to the
emergency room a thing to consider?    Thanks for your time.

I think you should first check with your dentist and then if the symptoms persist a visit to your MD is in order.
