I was recently at a dentist to have a cracked crown replaced. It has been 10 days and I am still having pain in my mouth. It hurts to open my mouth and to eat. I went back to the dentist and they gave me an anti inflammatoryInflammatory bowel disease Ulcerative colitis medicine. Is it commonCommon cold for a shot in the back lower left muscle to hurt for 10 days?? When should I start to have relief?
When you say it hurts to open your mouth and to eat, are you meaning the actual tooth that had the crown still hurts, or the area where the injection went in hurts? I'm assuming that only the injection area hurts and that the tooth is feeling fine. If this is the case then it's probably because the muscle or nerves in that area have been traumatised by the injection. I've had quite a bit of dental work done over the years and I tend to find that my jaw area is very sore and uncomfortable for up to a week sometimes after the injections. Everybody heals differently so if the muscle has been quite bruised, I'd give it anothe few days and see how you're feeling. Good luck....I know it's not pleasant.
