stabbing head pains and teeth

Hi and thanks for taking my question. I have bad teeth(long story) though I finally have gotten under a dentists care. Anyway I have been getting sharp stabbing shooting pains about 2 inches above the ear and they are making the area sore to the touch. Could this be coming from my teeth? I have no dental pain and the pain is NOT in my ear. Its on the outside at the top.  I was diagnosed with TMJ also. I have extreme anxiety which causes me to grind.Thanks so much for your help.

The diagnosis of TMJ is never broad. It can be structural or muscular.It is certainly possible that the discomfort you are experiencing is related to your anxieties which manifests itself with pain in the TMJ area. usually this is muscular in nature. I hope you are being seen by a dentist who specializes in this field.
