swellings on the gum

swellings on the gum

a couple of years ago i had a severe case of cancker sores, i had some swellings on my gum and white dots on my tongue, i couldn't eat nor drink, and was surely alot of pain.. after like 13 days, it went away. but since then every 3 weeks i get some sort of swelling on my upper gum above my teeth, each time above a different tooth. and then it goes away after a day or so. i went to my dentist, he said that my gum needs to be cleaned and told me to use Oral-B mouthwash blue bottle. i didn't clean my gums yet though.. i have a feeling it's deeper than my gums, since it comes and goes. i use Oral-B from time to time, but i still get those swellings. can anyone help?

Seeing a periodontist to have a comprehensive treatment is advised.
