swollen gland on upper right side of neck

swollen gland on upper right side of neck

About 1 month ago a piece of one of my upper right molers (1st or 2nd from rear) cracked off. For about 2 weeks it was really sensitive, and in fact it felt like the whole upper right side of my mouth (gums, etc) was infected. Now it is less sensitive. I obviously need to ge this fixed, and will as soon as finances permit. QUESTION: For about the same amount of time, approximately 4 weeks, I have had a swollen gland on the upper RIGHT side of my neck. It is not painful, I do not have a stiff neck or a sore throat or any other symotoms. I am 62 years old, male, and basically in good health.. Could the swollen gland be caused by some infection from the cracked tooth on the opposite side of my mouth? Thanks!!

Yes, it could be from the broken tooth.  I would advise seeing a dentist to find out what the treatment options are, costs so you can plan ahead, and get some antibiotics to slow the infection down before it continues to spread.
