tight jaw

i'v been having a problem with my jaw for quite some time now. I went to my denist and asked him about it. He told me he never hear a jaw do that and that it may be caused by stress. I thought it would probably go away but it hasn't. My problem is that my jaw on my right side will lock up. My teeth clam together shut really tight and i will feel tingles along my jaw it only last a couple of seconds. this usually occurs with out warning sometimes when i look streght up or eat somthing and when i use the stairs at school and trying to catch my breath my jaw will become tight and it is difficult for me to breath. i don't know if it is anything or maybe tmj or something. I just wish i could get rid of it.
