tooth and tongue pain

Can cavities and tooth pain make your brain think the tongue is hurting.For my 5 year old son. thank you

Its possible as pain can be referred from one spot to another.  Does he have any other symptoms?  Perhaps he bit on his tongue or something?

No this has been going on 4 some time his Dentist saw nothing DR saw nothing Ear noes and throught spec. saw nothing and now that his teeth are getting filled I was wondering, because he has ear pain and he has gotten his tonsils out and teeth pain cause ear pain so i thought it could be possible.
