toothache

My dentist couldnt tell if my tooth pain was sinus infection or needed root canal even after x-rays so he sent me to a specialist who took digital x-rays and said tests werenormal. Still in pain. Any idea if its sinus or what to do? taking advil  or tylenol for it.

Dear red885:
Perform thermal test(cold and hot) and electrical pulp test on offending tooth and adjacent teeth and bottom teeth would help locate the pain source. If visual exam does'nt reveal crack, crack detector would help identify microcrack. If all dental exam procedures turn out negative, ENT doctor is the way you should consult. Good luck
