unknown pain

I have been in pain for about 11/2 months. I went to my dentist with swollen gums and pressure in my right top jaw area. she took an xray said looked like it was close to my sinuses sent me to an endodontist. he did hot cold sensitivity but really found nothing. he said he though i was on to much pain medication. i went ot general dent. he took xrays now both sides were hurting and said he thought was sinus. went to ent. with cat scan and they said at first it was sinus but on further eval the mucous was not just started so it was a chronic thing so he though more tooth related tomorrow i go to an oral surgeon i think just for a consult but if he could relieve my pain i would be so grateful. the ent doc put me on steroids because she thought it was my sinuses it did relieve some pain but i feel it coming back do you have any idea what could be going on.
thank you

If it is nerve pain, you should see either an oral facial pain specialist or a neurologist.  I personally would recommend an oral facial pain specialist as they deal with that in particular.  But either one is good.

The oral surgeon said it was not my teeth and said he thought it might be nerve pain. I am really worried becaue i have read horro stories with this type of pain. have you ever heard of this before. I have a constant toothache and can range from either side and intensity of pain.,

Well, if the ENT says it not a sinus problem, it probably isn't although your description definitely sounds like it would be a sinus problem.  Sometimes I'll prescribe antibiotics before sending a patient to the ENT, especially if they have any nasal symtpoms prior to their pain.  Do you have pain when leaning over or pain to pressure being applied on your cheek/eye area?  I hate to contradict what your ENT has said since he/she has seen you and done a scan but judging by what the endodontist and the general dentist indicate, it seems there isn't a source of tooth pain.
