what is the truth about mercury fillings

Can anyone tell me the truth about the filling we have in our mouth.  Is it important to have those removed in order to feel better.  I do struggle with many symptoms and I was told to have them replaced  to feel better and stay healthy.

Dear Iv7, At this point, the position of the American Dental Association is that amalgam (containing mercury) restorations are safe. There are other alternative fillings that can be placed. I do not believe in removing silver fillings for the sake of replacing them with other restorations. If a filling has to be replaced I will give the patient the choice of amalgam or composite (tooth color) fillings.

If you research the net you will find differing opinions on this subject.  If you want another side of the story look on the www.naturalcures.com site.  Or get the Natural Cures newsletter or book.  Kevin's theory is that some people are very allergic to these mercury filling s and other types of fillings.  I have personally had a freind who had serious health problems and when they finally got the fillings replaced he was cured!  Something to look into....
