will it cost anything right away for an emergency extraction?

my lower left wisdom has been in excrutiating pain for 3 days now. my gum s overlapping and swollen on my wisdom tooth, my cheek is swollen and it hurts to smoke, eat, swallow and i can barely open my mouth. i have researched on wisdom teeth already and most have told me to get it pulled right away....i dont really have the funds to do it. will it cost anything if it is an emergency? because im pretty sure it is an emergency when i can't even eat...

JJ089,

Just call a dentist.  The link below shows you how much a tooth extraction costs.

most emergency rooms will not extract teeth. their drs are not trained for dental work and if they tried and something happened they could be sued. they will give you antibiotics and maybe pain pills and tell you to go to a dentist. most dentists wont extract until the infection is reduced and will make you take antibiotic and pain pills for several days before extraction too the only difference is the emergency room will send a bill too and you will have to pay two bills.
