wisdom teeth

Is it possible for you teeth to move out of place after you get your wisdom teeth taken out??  I got my wisdom teeth taken out 3 days ago, and it feels like and looks like the teeth on my right side have moved out of place.  Also, I still have numbness on my chin and lips and teeth.  The dentist said it's most likely the nerve is bruised.

Well, if you're asking specifically if it can move due to the extractions, its not likely that it would have caused much movement in the teeth.  If we could move teeth that quickly, braces would be alot faster.  Teeth may naturally move due to the muscles of the mouth such as the tongue and cheek.  That is why certain oral habits such as thumb sucking can cause problems with the arrangement of teeth.

Its possible that without the wisdom teeth, you bite may be slightly off and you may be experiencing some awkwardness with your bite.  The numbness probably doesn't help much either.  I can't really explain why it may look like its out of alignment though.

The numbness is probably due to the trauma to the big nerve that runs along the bottom of the jaw called the inferior alveolar nerve or mandibular nerve.  It may take some time for the nerve to recover and sensation to return back to normal.
