I emailed you about performance anxiety a week ago or so if you recall.  I said I was having arousal problems and had become preoccupied by testing myself to see if could be aroused at the shear sight or thought of a woman and you told me to relax and take a break.  I'm straight and went as far to ask myself if I was gay which is crazy and tried testing myself with men b/c I couldn't figure out why I couldn't be aroused by porn or woman like I used to be.  My theapist thinks I have OCD and I agree.  He said I'm obseesing about stuff.  He thinks I need medication and theapry and I agree.  My question is two-fold.

1.  What types of medication are used for this and will not affect my sexual performance or desire being how many of them do b/c I feel that would worsen the problem.  How long does a person such as myself typically take the medication for?

2.  Am I able to have a few beers with friends while on the medication.  I'm 26 and like to go out.  I'm afraid I will be more depressed if I'm unable to go out and drink and socilize with friends.

Most people safely do have a few beers while on these medications even though it is not recommended by the maker of the drugs.  The medications include Paxil, Zoloft and others in that class, and only a small per cent have sexual side effects, and for men its mostly having trouble with ejaculation rather than interest.
