ADHD

I have recently found out through my daughter going to therapy  that I have depression, anxiety and ADHD.  My doctor put me on Wellbutrin and that was awful - My anxiety went through the roof and my mood swings were terrible, and the blurred vision was unbearable - I couldn't read.  He switched me to Zoloft and within a week I felt great.  After a couple of weeks he decided to put me on Aderall for the ADHD.  I have been on that for about 3 weeks and I feel worse.  I have been adjusting my dose (started taking 20 mg 2x day now 10 mg 2x a day) level to see what works best, but nothing seems to be working.  I can't tell the difference between the two doses.  The last couple of days I am in a kind of trance - find myself staring into space and not getting anything done.  I also feel a little iritable.  Do I need to give the medicine more time or what do you recommend.  My eyes are still blurry - how long will it take to go back to normal?

Dear Jodi
I am glad that you are feeling better on Zoloft. Adderall (adderrall) is a medication used for the treatment of patients with ADHD. Adderall (adderrall) is made from a combination of Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine. Amphetamines should be used with caution, preferably at the lowest effective dosage to prevent any adverse effects. The most common side effects are Anorexia, weight loss, insomnia, irritability, restlessness, headaches, stomach upset, elevation of blood pressure etc. Blurred vision also has been reported from its usage. I would recommend that you consult with your physician for adjusting the dosage and for further recommendations. Good luck to you.

Sincerely
HFHS-M.D.
