I am a 40 year old male living in the Midwest. 24 months ago I had the same symptoms I am going to describe. They lasted for 10 to 12 months then subsided. During that time I saw a local neurologist and two at the University of Chicago. Test

I have similar type issue. Spine doctor says I am ok Neurologist says I don't have MS I had an MRI and she did various poking with pind etc. She will do a EEG and EMG also She referred me to spine center.  I have already been there they say I had deconditioned muscles I went  PT it helped but insurance ran out.

I started working out on my own but was afraid i would lift too much and hurt my back THe weight machines lowest setting were morethan the weight I lifted in therapy i am feeling all the pains weird sensations much worse know I focus on the weird feelings movements etc.  and think it is something serious.  People tell me It is nothing others say MS. Lou Gehrig disease etc. When I went to the spine doctor yesterday she said I have aniexity issues and my body is fine from below the neck. THE nerurologist said I do not have MS and referred me to spine cr. I am at square one and back in a lot of pain.

I know I need to workout but am afraid to go. I don't know what to do and am feeling stressed

BEING IN THE MEDICAL FIELD/ AND CLINICAL STUDIES OF ADDICTIVE DISEASES(CHEM DEPEND.) IT APPEARS YOU MAY HAVE GENERALIZED ANXIETY DISORDER PARALELLED W/ OCD!! YOUR SYMPTOMS ARE PROBABLE TO BE PSYCHOSOMATIC, AND YOU NEED QUICKLY TO ADDRESS THE ROOT OF THIS WHICH IS A PSYCHIATRIC ISSUE DON'T GO TO A GENERAL MED  DOC. THEY WILL ONLY BAND-AID THIS ISSUE-A PSYCHIATRIST WILL GET TO CAUSES AND COND. IN ADJUNCT W/ THERAPY!! BEST OF LUCK-
NOT LUPUS FOR SURE IT WOULD HAVE SHOWN UP ON BLOOD WK. NOT MS EITHER!!!

I truly understand and sympathise with you, as I've been through a very similar thing of being continually convinced that I had HIV even though my doctor tested me and told me I haven't.

Are you seeing a therapist at all?  I started seeing one and have had some luck with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which will help you deal with the cycle of negative thoughts which make everything seem so real and so likely.

I will say this, though - if the neurologist has said you're fine then you should trust him, even though this is very hard.  You are suffering greatly with anxiety and you should concentrate on seeking help for that.

Good luck.

HI ALL,

My name is Alex im 27yrs old, for the last 6 years i have been suffering from ocd and anxiety, my main worries over these 6 years has been thinking i have HIV with every girl i come in to some sort of sexual contact with, even though i have always used protection.
I have had around 35 blood tests in the last 6 years just for this disease and have always been negative,so everytime im with a girl oraly or sexually i become a hermet at home for 3 months till i know i have passed the window period for HIV and i can get an 100% result, fortuanlly my doctor understands my neurosis and never turns me away which is a huge help.

But now i have started on a new venture of ocd and anxiety a disease called parkinsons.

I started to notice twitches in my fingers, as soon as i saw this i searched the net for symptoms of parkinsons and now believe i am a parkinson sufferer.

My today symptoms are the following:
Stiff aches and pains in my neck and shoulders and ankles.
slight tremors in legs, hands and arms.(more on the left side)
twitches all over my body and times of the day.
Constipation and week urine passing.

I have been back to the doctor with all these symptoms and he assured me its all anxiety, due to my anxious and neurotic ways i demanded a referal to a neurologist.

So last week i went an saw the head proffesor of neurology at one of australia's leading hospitals.

He did all the muscle and reflexes test and assesed me all over and found there was nothing wrong, that alot of this is from my anxiety and told me i would be best to see an anxiety specialist.

For some reason i still believe i have parkinsons, im having a very tough time at the moment i cant stop surfing the next looking for an explanation, and what makes it worse is when you see how Michael J Fox started to notice a twitch in his pinky finger and then had tremors and pains in his shoulders, which inturn was diagnosed with parkinsons.

I know i am highly anxious and it is becoming hard to know if i am just imagining all this.

Please help me does it sound like i have parkinsons.

Regards
Alex

These are not the typical symptoms of ms, but they are the typical symptoms of anxiety, so that is what I would focus on if I were you to get the best relief. A trial of antianxiety medications would help with both relief and diagnosis.  ASk your doctor about klonopin.

I'm sorry you feel this way, I wish I could help, but if you scroll down, you will see my post.  I can't stand the twitches and buzzing, and the cold sensations really freaks me out.  Did you ever try xanax, it helps me some.  Do you get weird facial feelings?  I never had tingling (pins/needles), I get tickkly, bug crawling sensations, they are awful.  And yes, I constantly worry about this, I have had this for 5-6 years, my brain and cervical MRI is normal, except for a bulging disk.  Neuro says no weakness, muscle loss, everything normal, no MS.  I can't take it anymore, sometimes I just sit and cry, which, BTW, makes it worse.  But when I'm busy, I don't notice it, sound familiar?

Did you post on the neurology forum here before?  If so, what did he say.  I posted , this was before the c-spine MRI, he felt that my problems were coming from migraines also, or anxiety.  Who knows, all I know its not fun.

Believe it or not, all of these symptoms could be from fibromyalgia.
