Bellergal and Herbal Medicine

Are there any herbal medicines that are contradictory in the use of Bellergal which is an ergot alkaloid, anticholinergic, and antispasmodic combination -- SamE for example.  Thank you.

I am not a proponent in the use of herbal supplements like St john's wort or SamE because of the limited information you can gather from them re: drug interactions, side effects, efficacy, etc. I do not prescribe Bellergal but I am attaching information from drugstore.com re: precautions in the use of Bellergal.

Before using:Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE if you are also taking efavirenz or macrolide antibiotics. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking anticoagulants, birth control pills, corticosteroids, doxycycline, metronidazole, quinidine, valproic acid, theophylline, sumatriptan, or medicine for high blood pressure or heart conditions (beta blockers) or for mood or emotional conditions (phenothiazines). Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. USE OF THIS MEDICINE IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have a history of high blood pressure, heart or kidney conditions, porphyria, or megacolon.
